A superb original sound, muscular and dynamic, yet capable of great delicacy. A blend of folk, indie, country, classical and eclectic styles.
With varying influences including Ray LaMontagne, Elbow, EELS, Nick Drake, Tori Amos and Goldfrapp, Marie-Claire's sound is unique. With lyrics inspired by love, life and all the in-betweens, her songs are haunting and mesmeric.
Marie-Claire performs with a group of musicians who she affectionately refers to as her 'husbands'. They are Steven Wattison (guitar), Pete Jennings-Bates (bass), Tommy Jennings-Bates (keyboards), Dan Slade (drums) and Ted Dwyer (guitar).
