Born and raised in Worcestershire, Marie-Claire Berreen has been writing songs since she was a little girl. With a range of influences including Nick Drake, Tori Amos, Elbow, Goldfrapp and John Tavener, the former choirgirl intertwines classical, folk and eclectic styles to create a pure and unique sound.
Marie-Claire has been writing songs with Steven Wattison since their meeting in late 90's. After much procrastinating they finally performed their music to audiences in 2010 and pressure soon mounted to record an album.
With the need to replicate the sound of the recordings, Pete Jennings-Bates and additional musicians Dan Slade and Glenn Louis Pettit joined the live set up. Her debut album, ‘Box and Ribbon’, is about life, love, relationships and all the in-betweens.
